Harrison Catering Services

The catering at Cheam High School is provided by Harrison Catering Services. Since its founding in 1994, Harrison has always been about quality fresh food prepared on-site and served by people who love what they do. Over 100 clients across the UK enjoy a Harrison food service, with more than 100,000 meals being served each day by approximately 2,600 staff across more than 400 sites.

Harrison understands that what students eat affects their health and their ability to learn and perform in the classroom. At Cheam High School, our catering team provides balanced meals which meet nutritional standards, and we work to educate students on how to make healthier food choices. Our goal is to instil a love and understanding of fresh, healthy food that will positively influence them throughout life. All Harrison staff receive training in how to prepare and serve healthier food through the company’s bespoke Eat Well Live Well training programme. We also work to broaden students’ palates by introducing new ingredients with tasting samples and featured dishes on our menu.

Our catering team works with the school, students and parents to tailor menus to the tastes and preferences of students, including any cultural, medical or dietary needs. We introduce further interest and excitement to our menus with a variety of theme days held throughout the school year, ranging from barbecue days to holiday celebrations to cuisines from around the world, and we tie these into the school curriculum whenever possible to further reinforce classroom learning.

Our fresh ingredients are of the highest quality and British-sourced wherever possible. For example, all our chicken comes from the UK and every egg we use is free range and UK-sourced. Our focus on using quality, fresh ingredients to create fantastic dishes for students means you can be sure they are sitting down to a nutritious, delicious meal at lunchtime.

About the Menu

For mid-morning break, we offer a wide selection of freshly prepared rolls, sandwiches and baguettes, as well as a wide choice of hot snacks, fruit and chilled drinks.

For lunch, we offer a three-week cycle of traditional main meals, plus a variety of hot ‘grab and go’ items, such as pasta, jacket potatoes and wraps, as well as hot and cold desserts, freshly-made cakes and cookies and dessert pots. Our menu cycle changes every term, allowing us to incorporate seasonal ingredients into our menus to add variety and keep students coming back for more of our delicious food.
