Information for Staff
Cheam High School is committed to ensuring that students have high quality impartial advice on career opportunities and that they progress onto appropriate courses or employment on leaving the school. It is very important to us to know that all leavers have a plan for their next step.
All staff should:
- Encourage and engage in conversations with all students about their career goals and next steps post education.
- Prepare young people at Cheam High School for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of adult life.
- Help young people develop an understanding of their own and others’ strengths, limitations, abilities, potential, personal qualities, needs, attitudes and values.
- Help young people investigate opportunities for further learning and employment, make decisions and manage transitions across the three key stages at 13+, 16+ and 18+.
The resources below should help demonstrate how careers can be linked to different subject areas. This will be very useful for our annual ‘Big Careers Week’ in March.
