Year 13 Criminology Workshop
Posted: 27/09/24
This week the Year 13 Criminology students took part in a workshop where they were transformed into Crime Scene Officers for the day. They learnt a variety of forensic techniques such as how to dust for fingerprints using magnetic powder, collect trace fibres using tape and took their own footprints. After learning these techniques, they were presented with a crime scene that they analysed in a ‘who did it’ scenario.
All students donned PPE so they didn’t contaminate the crime scene that they were investigating. All had a great time and have learnt some brilliant skills, building on what they have been learning in class:
“Helped me to get a better understanding of the role of forensic scientists and crime scene investigators.” Laura C.
“Intriguing, interactive and insightful” Beth B.
“Fun, exciting and really interesting” Maisey, Olivia and Asya.
