St Ives Art Trip

During September, Year 10 GCSE Fine Art students were lucky to experience an amazing four day visit to Cornwall, to gather research for their GCSE coursework.
They enjoyed visiting art galleries and creating artwork. Over the course of the trip, they experienced watercolour painting on the beach; making sculptures in the sand and drawing various exotic and unusual plants.
A highlight of the trip was a visit to the famous Eden Project, where they explored the large hothouses and saw plants from all over the world. Students also got to test their bravery on a zipwire that travelled over the Eden Project!
We all enjoyed seeing artworks from top British artists such as Barbara Hepworth and Kurt Jackson, as well as a visit to the Tate St Ives gallery.
All participants thoroughly enjoyed themselves and brought home an amazing range of artworks to contribute towards their portfolio of work.
