On Friday 15th November, 50 Year 13 students had the privilege of attending the What Career Live! exhibition at Olympia in London, a fantastic event designed to help young people explore their post-18 options. The trip was both informative and inspiring, providing students with a wealth of information about future career paths and opportunities.
The event featured a diverse range of exhibitors, including representatives from top universities, apprenticeship providers, and leading employers. Notable companies like PWC and EY were in attendance, along with organisations like the Royal Navy and the Metropolitan Police, offering insights into careers in their field.
Students had the chance to speak directly with professionals, attend informative talks, and gather resources tailored to their interests. For those considering higher education, universities provided detailed guidance on courses, campus life and admissions processes. Apprenticeship providers showcased practical, hands-on alternatives to traditional study, while employers discussed pathways into the workforce, highlighting both graduate roles and entry-level opportunities.
The event proved invaluable for helping students solidify their post-18 plans, sparking conversations about future aspirations, and providing clarity on next steps. Many students returned feeling motivated and better equipped to navigate the transition from school to their chosen career paths. Year 13 students: let’s keep the momentum going!
