Year 12 High Ashurst Orienteering Trip

A small group of Year 12 students spent an exciting day at the High Ashurst Orienteering Centre, where they honed essential outdoor navigation skills. Guided by experienced instructors, they learned how to read maps effectively, gaining confidence in interpreting symbols and terrain features. The students also mastered the use of compasses, understanding how to align and follow bearings.
Additionally, they practiced pacing techniques to measure distances accurately and calculated how long it should take to cover specific distances on foot.
Through hands-on activities and teamwork, the day was both educational and engaging, equipping them with valuable skills for future adventures.
