CHEAM HIGH SCHOOL vs OAKS PARK (AWAY)
On Tuesday 16th December, the Year 13 boys football team took to the pitch on Tuesday, ready to face Oaks Park. Representing Cheam were: Will LS, Alex R, George C, Rudy LSO, Vincent C, Freddie M, Ammar K, Kashan N, Jake S and Harvey S.
The game began on a positive note for Cheam, as the boys started solidly, showing excellent composure and teamwork. Their hard work paid off midway through the first half, with Cheam opening the scoring after a well-executed move by George Churchill. The lead, however, was short-lived as Oaks Park capitalised on a corner to equalise shortly after.
Heading into the second half, Cheam looked to regain control of the match, but a series of events, including some questionably timed substitutions, disrupted their rhythm. Oaks Park seized the opportunity and managed to add two more goals, leaving Cheam chasing the game. Despite their best efforts to rally, a late fourth goal sealed a 4-1 victory for Oaks Park.
While the result may not have gone their way, the Cheam boys displayed fantastic sportsmanship and resilience. They were gracious in defeat, appreciative of the chance to compete and enjoyed the opportunity to relive their footballing days from lower school.
A huge thank you to the players and teachers for making this match possible.
The Year 13 team can hold their heads high and look forward to more opportunities to showcase their skills on the pitch in the new
year. Well done boys!
