Sixth Form Update

Well done to our sixth form students for a very positive week.

Please see the below reminders to support students making a good start to the year.

  • Work hard from the off as a positive start is vital – students should know their timetable, use free periods in the right way and the study facilities and work hard outside lessons
  • Attendance and punctuality are very important - this includes tutor time even if a student has a free Period 1 – students should not miss lessons
  • Dress code (including lanyards and cashless cards) – students must always be in correct dress code – refer to the guidance
  • Look after the sixth form area and facilities – students are very fortunate to have their own areas including a recently revamped Social Zone and new toilets
  • Be a role model – all sixth form students should set the right example to younger students and impress staff
  • Ask for help and support if it is needed – support is everywhere
  • If any sixth form students have any worries or concerns, the Sixth Form Team are always available with help and advice

A reminder that for current Year 13 students and parents/carers, our annual Progression Evening is on Thursday 18th September. Further details have been sent out.

In addition to Progression Evening, students have had assemblies and tutor sessions focusing on how to start Year 13 the right way to achieve their goals. Part of this is planning for their next steps whether that be university, an apprenticeship or a full-time job. We have shared templates and deadlines dates for their personal statements and will share these with you on Progression Evening.

We would like to welcome all of our new cohort to Year 12. We have been delighted to see so many young people joining our 6th form community and settling well in to their new subjects. We look forward to seeing the progress you all make over the next two years.

Our Year 12 Information Evening for parents and carers is being held on Wednesday 1st October and we will be in contact with parents/carers with further details.
