Open Evening 2025 (Main School)
Posted: 6/10/25

Our annual Open Evening for prospective parents/carers and students in Year 6 will take place on Thursday 9th October 2025, from 5.30pm - 8.30pm. Last entry for visitors will be 7.45pm.
School Day Timings
In order for staff to prepare the school for this very important event and because of the large numbers of students helping on the evening, please note that school will finish on this day at 12.20pm for all year groups.
On Friday 10th October, the school day will start a little later, with registration at 9.50am - 10am. The day will then proceed with Period 2 for Years 9, 11 and 13 and Break for Years 7, 8 and 12, with the rest of the day proceeding as normal.
Evening Timings & Parking
You are not required to book to attend our Open Evening, please just come along. Our gate opens at 5.25pm.
Please be advised that the evening can be very busy and, for health and safety reasons, there will be NO CAR PARKING available on the school site (except for disabled visitors – please contact us if you require a space) and parking in the roads near the school is, unfortunately, impractical.
To assist the free-flow of traffic, a number of parking restrictions will also be in place on the evening and will be enforced by traffic wardens. We would also ask all visitors to respect local residents and not to park in a way which could obstruct their entry to or exit from their properties. If you live close enough to walk to the school, it would help considerably if you were to do so. Please note the school entrance is off Chatsworth Road and is adjacent to the church on the corner of Chatsworth Road and Church Hill Road.
Headteacher's Speech: 6.15pm and 7pm in the School Hall.
Student Helpers
A large number of students will be helping on the evening as either Tour Guides or Department Helpers. Students who are helping will be given a paper letter to take home and parents/carers will receive an email to a Google form. We really look forward to seeing our students do a brilliant job, as they always do, on the evening.
We look forward to welcoming parents/carers and prospective students. We would also like to thank, in anticipation, all of our students and staff who will be helping on the evening.
We also want to remind parents/carers of Year 6 students that, even if you already have a child attending Cheam High School, you will still need to make an application to the borough for a September 2026 place for your younger child.
